Basic Capture components

Capture Software

Conduct live webcasts and offline recordings from your own computer's Capture Software. Capture Software is installed on a PC, Mac, or Capture Station, and its essential function is to record and stream your CaptureCast presentations, and publish them to the end user. After you finish recording a presentation, Capture Software enables you to publish it to Capture Portal for on-demand viewing and further editing.

Understanding the student dashboard

The student dashboard contains the data necessary for instructors to gain personalized insight about individual students in order to design specific interventions or instructional plans. This dashboard contains numerous interactive visualizations that enable instructors to gain awareness of their students' course performance and behavior. The dashboard highlights patterns and indicators about an individual student and their position relative to course expectations and other students within the course.

Understanding the class dashboard

Use the class dashboard to monitor the status of your students in terms of their predicted success. Your students appear in a list of 10 per page. Unenrolled students do not appear in the dashboard.

For each student, a Success Index prediction displays for the current week. The success index is comprised of a score from 0-10 and a trend sign. The score represents the predicted end grade for the student, rounded to the nearest whole number (for example, predicted grades of 78% or 82% would both round to 8).

Student Success System domains

Student Success System uses five domains in its predictive models to analyze and forecast student success. These domains are included by default in predictive models, however administrators can exclude domains from a predictive model during its configuration. The domains for a course's predictive model display in the win-loss chart on each student's dashboard. These individual domains combine to provide the overall value of the Success Index for each student in the course.
