Setting release conditions for a dropbox folder

Release conditions allow you to associate a dropbox folder with other items in Learning Environment. For example, you can require that users meet some criteria, such as reading a set of lecture notes in the Content tool, before they can submit their work to a dropbox folder. Or, you can make submission to the dropbox folder a criteria for accessing another item, such as a quiz.

Reviewing the blueprint

Your fourth and last step with the Instructional Design Wizard is to review the wizard's output, the blueprint, which is built with the information collected in prior steps.

This gives you a chance to see all the information in one place. The wizard displays this blueprint whenever you come back after a previous session.

Once you're done, the wizard lists the modules it created in the course blueprint. The items you set up in the wizard are automatically placed in the course builder.

Configuring how the wizard uses grade books

Your third step is to configure how the wizard works with the Grades tool to configure how you assess learners in your course.

Choosing your grading system

The wizard displays the system that is currently in place, but you can edit which one to use by clicking Edit grading system. This takes you out of the wizard and into the Grades tool.

See Grading systems for more information.

Creating instructional goals (learning objectives)

Your first step in designing a course using the Instructional Design Wizard is to define your learning goals for the course. This step breaks down into several tasks that you'll need to complete.

Setting goals for the course help you define the purpose of the course, where it fits in with other courses, the learning levels you are trying to target, and what skills and knowledge are you trying to give learners.

Defining the learning goals for your course has four sub-steps:

Creating and adding objects to the course tree

When you create an object in the toolbox or drag a new object into the course tree, Course Builder interacts with its Learning Environment tool, enabling you to populate basic information and attributes. This streamlines the process of setting up your resources so you can focus on developing your course. From the toolbox or selected node panel, you can launch an object's corresponding tool to complete and finalize its details.
